In this guide, we’ll show you how to add a floating WhatsApp button using Click to Chat, a popular and free WordPress plugin. The setup takes just a few minutes and requires no coding.
Prerequisites #
Before you begin, make sure you have:
- Access to your WordPress Admin Dashboard.
- Your WhatsApp phone number is ready.
Step 1: Go to the Plugins Section #
- Log in to your WordPress Dashboard.
- From the left-hand menu, click Plugins.
- Click Add Plugin at the top of the page.
Step 2: Install the Click to Chat Plugin #
- In the search bar, type WhatsApp.
- Locate the plugin named Click to Chat.
- Click Install Now.
- Once installed, click Activate.
Step 3: Open Click to Chat Settings #
- In the WordPress Dashboard menu, find Click to Chat.
- Click it to open the plugin’s settings page.
Step 4: Set Up Your WhatsApp Number #
- In the Phone Number field:
- Select your country from the dropdown list.
- Enter your WhatsApp number without spaces or special characters.
- This number will be used for all chats initiated from your website.
Step 5: Choose a Button Style #
- Scroll to the Button Style or Appearance section.
- Select one of the available floating WhatsApp button designs.
- Preview the styles and choose the one that best fits your website’s look.
Step 6: Save Your Settings #
- Click Save Settings.
That’s it! 🎉
The floating WhatsApp icon will now appear on your website.
